Barcode scanner

A barcode scanner performs an important role in reading particular documents. Not all people know it but this industrial output is also essential in tracking vehicle parts. Each form of barcode reader is packed with features ranging from one-dimensional and two-dimensional to multiple elements. Several of its kinds are the pen readers, 2D cameras, laser scanners and CCD readers.

2D Imaging Scanner - These are in fact the newest type available, the technology is completely different and the do not rely on light sources a light source. These units have a small video camera that captures the image of the barcode. The technology is essentially the same as the CCD technology however the video camera in this unit has hundreds of rows of sensors instead of a single row. The hundreds of sensors are arrange in a two dimensional array this allows them to generate an image.

Omni-Directional Barcode Scanners - These scanners use a series of curved or straight lines each with varying directions in the form of a lissajous pattern (a starburst) or other multiangle arrangements. They are projected at the barcode and no matter what the orientation at least one r more of them will be able to cross all the spaces and bars. These scanners typically use a laser, however unlike the standard single line lasers they produce patterns of beams allowing the reader to work at an angle.
