Lifetime Equipment
When somebody refers to lifetime fitness equipment, it simply means that the machine will function within its serviceable life. Of course, this assumes that the proper use is exercised so that only normal wear and tear occurs.
For the most part, workout equipment will have a maximum life of 10 years. When it reaches that age, you might want to retire the equipment due to excessive wear and tear, technological obsolescence, unattractive looks and safety concerns.
How to Get Good Deals on Used Fitness Equipment
Here are a few places where deals are springing up:
1) eBay — the worlds #1 auction site is a place you can grab some really great fitness equipment deals. From interchangeable dumbbells to workout benches, you can find it all. When purchasing on eBay, only buy from sellers with proven feedback. Also, if the seller allows local pickup, you can search locally and save the shipping costs.
2) Craigslist — The best free online classified ad site in the world! Everyday, sellers post their ads for all sorts of used fitness equipment. You have to keep any eye out though, the deals go quickly. While most of the sellers end up being legitimate on Craigslist, you may want to take a friend along when you go to pick it up. You can never be too safe.
3) Yardsales — Some of the best deals are at yard or garage sales. Many people are moving and just want their stuff gone. Don’t be afraid to wheel and deal. Treadmills, elliptical machines, and recumbent bikes can often be found for dirt cheap during these sales.
